Tonight’s Game and Saturday’s Game/Trophies

May 18, 2010 by

With the threat of bad weather, we’ll just all have to check the weather hotline to see if the game is cancelled.  Hotline – 803-548-1750.  If all is a go, please be at the field at 5 p.m.

In terms of the end of the season party/trophies, we’re going to need to make it a quick celebration – as several members of our team have a travel ball tournament to attend following our game this coming Saturday.  Having said that, I will have the hot dogs cooked and everything set-up under the pavillion at Runde Park as our game ends (approximately 12:00 p.m.).  I will bring the hot dogs.  The Romenick family has already gotten the chips and condiments.  If someone can bring something sweet (maybe cupcakes), the only other things we will need are  plates, napkins, and drinks.  During this time we will give out trophies.

In lieu of the party being cut somewhat short, Coach Nick and Susie Boyle (Shane’s mom) would like to extend an invitation to the entire team to attend the opening home game of the Carolina Stingers on June 2 at 7 p.m. at Fort Mill High School.  Entry for the children is free and we’d like for everyone to wear their jerseys.  You can learn more about the Carolina Stinkers by visiting http://www.carolinastingersbaseball.com/

Tomorrow’s Game – May 18

Please be at Runde Field by 5 p.m. tomorrow for the game.   Tomorrow’s game is important in terms of ranking, etc.  Arrage has snacks.  Also I have received trophy money from Varela, Alwi, and Verastegui.  I didn’t receive feedback regarding the end of the year party so executive decsion . . . following the last regular season game on May 22, we will give out trophies and have hot dogs either in a corner of unused space on the field or under the shed at Runde.  I will supply the dogs.  If someone can bring 1) Buns 2) Condiments 3) Chips 4)Coleslaw 5)Something sweet. 6)Plates, napkins 7)Drinks .  Romenick is signed up for snacks for the 22nd – but if we do this party – just select an item and let me know.

Week of May 10 – Game & Practice

May 10, 2010 by

Reminder that we have a game tomorrow night, Tuesday, May 11.  Please be at Runde field by 6:45.  Then on Wednesday, we have our regular practice at 7:15.  Because of PASS testing this week, we will do everything possible to keep the game and practice on schedule.  Snacks for Tuesday’s game is being provided by the Kelly family.

Today’s Game

May 8, 2010 by

Hopefully everyone is keeping up with the schedule since I’m sending these emails so late but just in case, please be at Runde today no later than 1 p.m.  The Woods family has snacks.

Also the season is beginning to wind down and it is time to think about trophies and end of the season party.  I haven’t specifically priced trophies but if history holds true, I’d say $10. Just give me money whenever you see me. As far as the party, if any of you have any ideas, let me know.  I’m a fan of grilling hot dogs at the park and everyone bringing a little something.  Just let me know your thoughts.

Pictures and Practice Tonight

April 28, 2010 by

Hopefully everyone got my email on Saturday, announcing that team photos would be postponed until tonight before practice.

Make-up photos will take place at Runde Field tonight at 6:45.  So everyone should arrive at 6:30 in clean uniform.  This will allow an hour for the photos before our practice begins at 7:30. If photos go smoothly, of course we can warm-up and start practice at the normal 7:15.

I realize all this switching around has been inconvenient but it simply couldn’t be avoided.   Keep in mind that we do not have another game until Saturday, May 8.  So after tonight, we are all done until practice next week.

This Week . . .

April 21, 2010 by

Tonight is our regularly scheduled practice at 7:15 at Runde Field.

Saturday we have a game at 10:30 at Runde Field.  We play the Volcanoes.  Arrage is signed up for snacks.

Sunday we have team photos at TURNER FIELD at 4:45.  We will have purchase forms at tonight’s practice and there should be extras available on Sunday.

We still need someone to bring snacks for the game on May 18.  This is a Tuesday 6 p.m. game at Runde.
